Preparing for CascadiaJS

In order to get the most out of your CascadiaJS experience, it helps to get prepared. Whether it's booking a dinner reservation before the Opening Party or making sure you pack a water bottle, we have put together a list of tips and tricks to make sure you have everything covered for Nov 15-16.

Here are some important TODOS to ensure your conference experience is 💯:

Pack Your Bags

The only required item you must bring is a Photo ID. This is required for entry to the Amazon Meeting Center and will be matched against the name you provided when you registered for the conference. Other items you should consider packing:

  • Snacks - we will be serving lunch both days of the conference, but if you need to nosh regularly throughout the day, please bring snacks.
  • Water bottle - water dispensers will be available, so help out the environment and bring a bottle.
  • Fall Clothing - expect clouds/drizzle and mid-50's during the day, dipping to the mid-40's at night.

Conference Schedule

The conference is ~48 hours of pure awesome starting Thursday morning (11/15) and concluding Friday night (11/16). Each day will start with registration and close with an evening event. Here is a rough schedule:

Thursday, Nov 15

  • 08:00 - Doors Open
  • 09:15 - Kick-off
  • 12:45 - Lunch
  • 17:45 - Day One ends
  • 19:15 - Opening Party

Friday, Nov 16

  • 08:00 - Doors Open
  • 09:15 - Kick-off
  • 12:45 - Lunch
  • 17:45 - Day Two ends
  • 18:30 - Closing Party

Meals

Breakfast - If you're a breakfast person, make sure to grab a bite on your way into the Amazon Meeting Center. Check out Top Pot Doughnuts, Biscuit B**ch, and Cherry Street Coffee.

Lunch - Lunch is being catered on both days. We will publish the menu shortly. If menu doesn't work for you, please take a moment to research lunch options neaby. There are dozens of great places to eat with a 5-10 walk of the Amazon Meeting Center, including Marination, Urban Sushi and Potbelly Sandwiches.

Dinner - We've included time in the schedule for folks to get dinner in between the talks ending and the evening event beginning. Please consider making reservations for dinner so that you're spending more time enjoying food with friends and less time walking around looking for an open table. We like RN74, Lola, Shaker and Spear, Local 360, Radiator Whiskey and Matt's in the Market.
